In fact, neuroeconomist and Emory professor Gregory Berns believes that iconoclasts have distinctive neurochemistry that helps them notice more than others, avoid the fear response that keeps people from attempting “impossible” things and sell their ideas better to skeptics.
Brain studies with fMRI devices are charting this territory and more. The consequences with reverberate through many fields, probably requiring some neuropolicy.
